Hello! My Name Is...

Jason Bevil

      My name is Jason Bevil. I am Apison's STEM Teacher and VW eLab Specialist. I have taught at Apison Elementary for over fifteen years. I am part of the Related Arts Team. In my class, you will get to learn about Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics, or STEM. My students will get to participate in hands-on learning activities and projects that connect to their classroom instruction in unique and interesting ways. 
 
     Some personal information about me. I have a beautiful wife named Greta and three children. I have been married to my wife for over twenty years. My oldest child, Benji, will soon graduate from high school. My other son, Josh, is in high school as well. He is currently learning to drive. My youngest, Cassie, is also my only daughter. She is in middle school. She likes to collect Funko Pops exactly like I do.

In addition to my role as a our STEM teacher, I am the lead coach for our STEM Clubs. We have a Lego Robotics team, a Tello Drone League team, an underwater ROV team, two Science Olympiad teams, and two Green Spaces electric car teams. The awards for some of these STEM Teams are located in our school's lobby, hanging on the walls or in the glass cases. These STEM clubs are an after school activity and the student members are nominated by their classroom teacher.

Thank you for attending Apison Elementary. We strive to be the best we can be. It's not about being perfect, it's about trying things and learning from what went right and what went wrong. In STEM, we work to explore concepts and practice new skills that allow us to learn more about the world around us. We are happy to have you here and we look forward to watching you grow as you learn with us!
