COVID -19 Updates

The use of a face covering is optional for all students and staff.

▪ At this time, Hamilton County Schools recommends that all individuals 2 years and older wear a face covering if they are not vaccinated.

▪ The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) strongly advocates that all policy considerations for school plans should start with the goal of keeping students safe and physically present in school.

▪ Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is as follows: – “When teachers, staff, and students who are not fully vaccinated consistently and correctly wear a mask, they protect others as well as themselves. Consistent and correct mask use by people who are not fully vaccinated is especially important indoors and in crowded settings, when physical distancing cannot be maintained.”

▪ All individuals, vaccinated or unvaccinated, may wear a face covering if they want to

Other Safety Mitigations

We will continue to physically distance, maintaining at least 3ft apart when possible and practicing good hygiene washing hands before and after lunch, having hand sanitizer available for frequent use. Hard surfaces and high-touch areas will be cleaned and disinfected at the end of each day.

We are excited about beginning our new school year and look forward to seeing you soon!
