Liz Fleming

My name is Liz Fleming. I am a highly qualified educator with 20 years of teaching experience. Driven by my love for children and learning, I take pride in providing the best education possible, for every child I serve.  As a special educator my goals include teaching children the skills needed for more independence, individualized academics, and appropriate social skills through both inclusive and pull-out settings.

My passion for teaching exceptional education can be traced back to when I was working with in-home applied behavior therapists and spent significant time working with children with autism.  I continued to work as an in-home tutor while receiving my Bachelor’s degree in K-12, Special Education, and Master’s Degree in Education from The University of TN, Knoxville. Since graduating I have been privileged to teach children with all levels of special needs.  I strive to continuously learn more, so I can provide the best education possible for my students.

In addition to my career as an educator, I have a family that is my pride and joy.  My amazing husband, Dustin, and I have been married 26 years and stay busy with our two children, Austin, 17. and Madi, 12.  We have a house full of pets (dog, two cats, one gerbils, two lizards, one frog, one turtle and three koi fish and too many to count goldfish). Any chance we get we, spend it enjoying the great outdoors as a family.  I personally love reading, gardening, crafting and family time with my sisters and nieces.
