Apison Elementary School
Hamilton County Elementary Track & Field Information
Tuesday, May 6, 2013 Ooltewah High School Track
On Tuesday, May 6, 2014 Ooltewah High School Track (rain date: Thursday, May 8), your child will have the opportunity to participate in the 26th Annual Hamilton County Elementary School Track & Field Meet with children from other county schools in this area. Students have been vigorously participating in track & field activities in physical education classes and are prepared to compete in these events.
The objectives in making this opportunity available are:
-To expose children from different communities to a healthy and challenging competition in a supportive environment.
-To encourage fun and fitness.
-To experience the joy of participating in and completing a challenging event.
Outstanding sportsmanship is always expected from Apison Elementary students.
All Apison Track & Field team members will be transported to and from the event by driver Debbie Shugart at a charge of $4.00 per student (sorry, NO PARENTS). We will be departing promptly at 9:15 a.m. and returning at approximately 1:30 p.m.
We would enjoy as many parents and family members to attend the meet and support our boys and girls. It should be a very rewarding experience for each child.
Each track team member should wear an Apison Elementary Track shirt, which will be available for a cost of $6.00 (PLEASE INDICATE SIZE). Track members should wear comfortable shorts and athletic shoes (NO SPIKES).
A concession stand will be in operation during the meet, so students may wish to bring money for snacks. They may also bring a small personal cooler with a beverage and sack lunch. Please make sure that all items (including medications) are clearly marked with the child’s name. If your child would like to purchase a sack lunch from the cafeteria it will be provided at regular student cost. NO GAMES, TOYS, RADIOS, ETC., ARE ALLOWED.
The students, faculty, and administration are truly looking forward to this year’s meet and we hope that you will be able to attend and show your support for Apison Elementary School. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school at (423) 236-4322. We look forward to seeing you there.
